We're continuing our Victory Road walkthrough for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with the Grass-type gym next.
The Artazon Gym is the second gym we recommend taking on. For a complete list of what order you can tackle the game in, we've got the "correct" order listed for you.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Guide: Victory Road - How To Get The Grass Badge
How to get to Artazon Gym
Artazon is located to the far east of Mesagoza, past The Stony Cliff Titan and towards the end of South Province (Area Three).
Make your way east through the weaving, winding paths of the canyon area. You should see a town in the distance with a windmill — that's your destination.
The gym can be found on the south side of the city. As you walk towards the windmill, it's to the right.
Gym Test - Seek Out The Sunflora In Artazon
Talk to the receptionist inside the gym to take on the Test — Sunflora Hide-and-Seek. You need to gather up ten Sunflora that are hiding all around Artazon.
To start the Test, leave the gym and head to the right to a little fenced-off area with a sign above it. There are two big Sunflora statues on either side, with an attendant standing next to one. Talk to her to get started.
There are more than ten Sunflora in Artazon, so here are some of the potential locations where you can find them:
You'll find the first three Sunflora right in front of the pen, so you won't need to walk far. Interact with them each and they will start following you. One Sunflora is hiding under the play area, to the right of the pen.
Another Sunflora is making itself at home in a flower pot outside of the windmill, while there's another sleeping underneath it too. One Sunflora can be found running around the windmill too. You'll need to battle this one.
You can also chase a Sunflora around at the entrance and exit of the city, where again you'll have to battle them.
Another sunflower Pokémon is sleeping at the entrance of the Poké Ball maze on the north side of town, with three more resting or hiding through. Just west of the maze is another Sunflora in a flower pot.
Once you have collected ten Sunflora, speak to the attendant to complete the challenge, then return to the gym!
How To Beat Gym Leader Brassius, The Grass-type Gym Leader
An artist at heart, Brassius the Verdant Virtuoso comes packed with a Grass-type team and a Sudowoodo ready to Terasiallize into a Grass-type.
Grass types are exceptionally weak to Fire, Bug, Flying, Ice, and Poison-type Pokémon. Fuecoco fans will be once again happy, but you can also bring Nymble, Vivillon, Fletchinder, Staravia, and Paldean Wooper. Sudowoodo's Rock-type moves counter most of these types except Poison, which is where your regional variant Wooper may come in handy.
Pokémon | Level | Type | Tera Type |
---|---|---|---|
Petlil | Lvl 16 | Grass | N/A |
Smoliv | Lvl 16 | Grass/Normal | N/A |
Sudowoodo | Lvl 17 | Rock | Grass-type |
Artazon Gym Rewards
Once you've bested Brassius' team, you'll get the Grass Badge, along with TM020 Trailblaze.
That's it for the Grass-type gym, then. Let us know if this guide was helpful below, and be sure to check out our Pokémon Scarlet & Violet walkthrough guides for more details.
