So that's your lot for this week's North American Nintendo Download. Go on, be a sport and drop a vote in the poll above, and comment below with your hot picks!
Do we not get an EU/UK list anymore?
Anyone have an opinion on Vanaris Tactics? I think it’s been out on PC for a bit.
Something's wonky with the poll. It lists the results, even though I haven't voted, and there are a whole bunch of blank entries with various percentages.
I second this question, though Its cheap enough I might just risk it, seems mostly positive on steam.
You people are willing to list shovelware after shovelware, and when a legitimately good game gets released ala BROK the InvestiGator comes along, you completely ignore it.
I guess the developer refused to send a check.
@Erigen They didn't ignore it...
Seeing these articles every week updating the weekly download reminds me of the sheer amount of games on the switch. Not just first and third party, but also the mountain of indies, hidden gems and even the shovelware. So much to choose from each week!
@Nanami_Ataraxi Meg's Monster got it's own review too, and yet it's on this list.
The point is, if they want to highlight games that from the week, they could do so much better than Puss and Boots interactive book, a "game" that can entertain a 2-year old for a whole 10 minutes.
@Erigen this is a Nintendo press release copy-paste 🤦🏻♂️
I'd argue reviews would gain much more traction to the game then digging for it on a random list... or you know, we can look on the Eshop ourselves. I bought the smile alchemist, which no-one is talking about, as well as megs monster but it wasn't because of this list, gotta respect people's intelligence a bit, the people who are after indie games will find them if they want them.
Then BROK is an indie game in its purest form. Made by one person, self-published and developed in a span of 6 years.
Like I said, this should be a highlight of games like these. The games you mentioned are absolutely deserving to be on the list. Yet "games" that are low-effort cash grabs are allowed to be placed on pedestals as though they are deserving of the honor when even games preservationists would not even look at their general direction.
It was in last weeks download...
Not only that I'm sure it will get mentioned in the indie highlights article at the end of the month.
Well, don't I feel dumb. I never look at these articles, just this particular one cause of BROK. It's not my fault they're wishy washy on release dates. >:V
Yep, we are absolutely spoiled for choice! but people will still say there's nothing on Switch. Even if you could afford all these games, it would be impossible to play them all the rate they come out XD
@Erigen It must've come out at an awkward time and just caught last week instead of this one, I checked because I knew they wouldn't miss it, as someone else said, they just copy/paste it that's why EVERYTHING is there, even the shovelware.
Hopefully the review for Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star game is around the corner. I think I’ll try the demo in the mean time.
The poll is broken for me, too.
Anyway, the only one I'm considering is Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, not sure if it would be too much for me as exercise, but I absolutely love the theme, it was such a nice (and hilarious) surprise during the Direct!
@shonenjump86 Didn't know or at least forgot it had a demo, I should check it out! And yes, I would also appreciate a review of it here on Nintendo Life.
They should have named it Fistness Boxing of the North Star.
@Nanami_Ataraxi That’s why I personally am not a huge fan of whenever I see people online complaining that they don’t have a the likes of a new Mario game coming or a port of an older game like Wind Waker, those types of people usually see them as necessary. While they both would be nice to have, we all know patience is a virtue and both will become reality eventually. Be it on the next console or the current one. They act as though there aren’t already a ton of other Mario and Zelda games currently on the Switch. There are tons of other options and games that play similarly to both Mario and Zelda, and all the rest. Switch users are indeed spoiled, with so many having impressive game backlogs they still need to complete!
Agreed! They just need to search games like 'insert their favourite franchise here' and there will be SO many options of games that are similar to tide them over until the AAA's come out, and some even better. I just completed Tinykin, and though it was short, I enjoyed it just as much if not more than Mario Odyssey. Yep, I'm convinced just what I have on my switch now will last me until I die, but then every week there's more, I can't keep up XD it's a wonderful; time, and I'm sad for those who are missing out on all the other gems the console has to offer.
There's a demo for Fitness Boxing North Star. I had problems with registering uppercuts.
Knockout Fitness is much better, i.m.o..
The description of Pronty motivated me to watch a trailer on Steam, where the reviews are very positive (didn't read them though). If it's not brutally difficult, might be interested depending on how Switch version reviews.
I really miss the European list, will it ever come back or is it just abandoned now?
@TheBigBlue @Nanami_Ataraxi Absolutely agree with both of you and couldn't have said it better!
@Naoto-chi If I recall correctly it's because whatever source Nintendo Life uses for these articles stopped doing the European list unfortunately.
already tried the jap version of fitness boxing hokuto no ken, still similar with vanilla fitness boxing, you can throw a random type as you see fit as a 'punch' even in the screen wants you to throw a jab or hook, but the plus is you can battle any character from hokuto...
