It’s that time of the year again! The Sephora VIB sale is always something I look forward to, as I’m sure most of us do. Last year’s purchases qualified me for VIB Rouge for this year, so I got a bit of a head start which is nice! This is the first time in years that I’m not going to qualify for VIB Rouge for the upcoming year. Honestly though, it feels great! The only real perk for me was the 2-day free shipping. Now that you can buy it, $10 is a more than reasonable price.
I was very selective with my purchases this time, moreso than the previous years. There’s only one treat item, and everything else is either a backup or replacement of something I use on a regular basis. I wrote a post on how I cut down on making frivolous purchases, if you’d like to check it out!
To me, Fresh is the pinnacle of all things luxury, from the packaging to the product itself. The Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner has been on my radar for a while. I have dry skin, and finding a good hydrating toner that’s actually hydrating is hard. I’m somewhat familiar with Fresh’s rose line; I’ve tried a few deluxe samples and they all worked well with my skin. The timing seemed to be right since I literally finished my previous toner the night before this one arrived – how satisfying is that! I like the Fresh one a lot so far, and I’m curious of the differences between this one and the regular rose toner.
Here’s the little treat purchase from Tatcha that I wasn’t really planning on making. I wanted to get their Skincare for Makeup Lovers Obento Box at first; it comes with a full size of their Luminous Dewy Skin Mist and a few minis for $10 more than the standalone mist. But like most sets, it sold out fast and I wasn’t able to get my hands on it. I decided it’d be worth the single purchase for those special days that I actually wear a full face of makeup outside the house. So far I’ve been using it to supplement my skincare routine and my skin looks and feels so much better!
I recently talked about the Fresh Rose Mask, and was debating on getting a full size since I actually ended up liking it a lot with regular use. It’s not something I need right away, so I decided to save it for the $20 off $50 sale for VIB that goes on in December. I have a couple of hydrating face masks to go through first, anyway!
The Bumble and Bumble Thickening Volume Hairspray is one of my all-time favorites. In fact, this is my third bottle! It comes with a misting spray nozzle which I like. I’m not a fan of aerosol sprays since that shit gets everywhere. It isn’t travel-friendly either, since there’s no way to decant it in a smaller bottle. Basically, this one’s a no-frills hairspray that works for me.
I’m running low on my current sea salt spray as well, so I picked up the Sephora Favorites Beachy Waves Sea Spray Collection. It includes four travel-size sprays from a few different brands, and it’s valued at half of what I paid for which is nice! I can easily travel with any of them (duh) and I can probably leave one at my boyfriend’s place since we’re long distance, too.
Of course, the only way I’m going to floss regularly without my dentist reprimanding me is if it’s a ~luxury floss~. I’m a little ashamed to say Cocofloss shimmied its way into this haul. I reviewed it a little while ago and it’s a floss that stands out and actually gets the job done… so I bought three more.
I didn’t pick up the Duo Eyelash Adhesive because I forgot, but I’ll be getting that when the second part of the sale is live. A lot of people have a love/hate relationship with this particular eyelash glue – myself included. Does it smell like rotten fish? Yes. Does it work, though? Yes. I’ve always preferred the squeeze packaging over brushes. I sometimes enjoy gluing sequins and flowers on my face, so it’s a lot more convenient to be able to squeeze the glue onto a palette.
