This is my current skincare routine, as so graciously highlighted by the title. I don’t change my product selection often, but I made a Glossier purchase last month and a few of those items have crept into my everyday routine. I’m not particularly good at masking, either (though I did subscribe to a Korean sheet mask box and the first one is coming in sometime next week!!). For reference, I have super dry skin that’s just a tad oily on the nose. Sometimes it flakes around my t-zone in the winter, but overall it’s not problematic or acne-prone.
I wear little to no makeup daily (my Instagram suggests otherwise – but I usually do all of that on the weekends and post them throughout the week) so I don’t find myself needing a tough cleanser. The Milky Jelly cleanser is creamy and really gentle on the skin. It’s the least drying cleanser I’ve tried – it’s even less drying compared to using just water! But it might be because it leaves a sort of film on the skin? It doesn’t feel weird or anything (it actually feels a bit luxurious) and it hasn’t caused any problems.
I don’t have big or problematic pores, but I like how this makes my skin feel. This exfoliator has superfine particles so it exfoliates gently, and I think it’s also a chemical exfoliant as well since you’re supposed to leave it on for a minute before rinsing. I use it once or twice a week, and I always notice that the products I put on afterwards sink in really well by next morning. This was gifted to me from Dr. Brandt.
When it comes to serums… I never feel a difference in my skin. I’m sure it’s doing something good for it, but I just personally never feel a difference. I still use them religiously, though! But just take note that I can’t offer any insight on how they actually work for me.
Cindy actually got me to buy this since she’s always raving about the Glossier serums on her Instagram. I like it so far, but I think I like the packaging even more. I’ve heard that The Ordinary has pretty much the exact dupes for all the Glossier serums at a better price, so I’ll likely be trying them next.
It’s a little sample that I’ve had laying around for a while. I’ve generally heard good things about Ren skincare and I like this serum for how it feels. Again, I can’t comment about what it actually does ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
One of my absolute favorite skincare items. I’ve bought this many times and I haven’t found any oils that work better than this for my skin. Again, I have super dry skin and just a normal moisturizer doesn’t really do anything for it. The packaging says to use 1 or 2 drops, but I go ham and use 4 or 6 depending on the season, just because my skin needs more than that. The only thing that I was iffy about was the scent – it smells a bit medicinal and herbal-y and I’d rather it not. But it’s done nothing but good to me so far, so I can’t complain!
Another one of my absolute favorite skincare items. This is my third tub and I like it a lot because it’s a very simple, no-frills moisturizer that is relatively inexpensive. I generally use this in the morning (with 2 or 3 drops of the Fresh Seaberry face oil mixed in for the winter), and sometimes at night when my face oil has sunken in a bit. Sometimes I use this as an overall body moisturizer because it’s so inexpensive… also because I’m pretty sure that’s what it was formulated for.
Okay, so maybe I totally forgot about posting something earlier this week. I guess it’s better late than never? Also I finally made a new header :)
